The Lead Security Engineer builds prototypes, products and systems suitable for testing, and sets up and runs lab simulations. Successful Lead Security Engineers are good team workers and have secure coding (different from encryption) and mobile security experience, and a good understanding and knowledge of digital certificates, security space access control, fire walls, VPN and vulnerability management. With a good understanding of/ability to understand business strategy, they are able to demonstrate innovation skills and vision for their domain. This position reports to the software project manager.

  • Assists in identifying and organizing requirements, and producing specifications.
  • Plans and supervises a small (typically up to eight people) team of staff.
  • Works with the supervisor and team members to identify and organize the best approach to executing the tasks required for the project.
  • Delivers the sub-system or sub-elements in time and at the necessary level of quality so as to respect the parent project requirements, timeline and budget.
  • Shares expertise throughout the organization and may provide user training for products.
  • Develops secure coding standards and best practices.
  • Identifies and keeps abreast of novel technical concepts and markets.
  • May author technical reports, papers, articles, patents, and presentations.
  • Architects and designs security control systems to address requirements.
  • Participates in Security event analysis and incident response.
  • Ensures that controls are operating effectively; resolve operating discrepancies.
  • Shares expertise via Eureka and SIGs and expand his/her informal network throughout the organization: field, research, engineering, manufacturing, other domains
  • May author/co-author technical reports, papers, articles, patents and presentations
  • Continually evaluates engineering approaches and risks to produce and iterate the development plans to ensure products and systems are delivered on budget and to exacting standards to the field/customer. Assists in preparation of cost estimates
  • Identifies and keeps abreast of novel technical concepts and markets
  • Learns new skills and adopts new practices readily in order to develop innovative and cost effective products that maintain Schlumberger's technical leadership position
  • Applies and complies with the project development process as defined by the Project Manager.
  • May participate in recruiting

  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Science or Engineering with software experience or education
  • Two or more Security/Network certifications : CISSP, CISM, CISA , CCNA, CCNP, GIAC, CEH
  • Knowledge of Networks, Identity Federation and Security (Application, Network, NGFW, Encryption)
  • Script writing, and experience of programming public clouds such as Google Cloud, Azure, and AWS
  • Experience with digital certificate, and with security in the SDLC
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Business architectural, analysis and planning skills
  • Audit / Risk assessments experience
  • Review and design methods
  • Software Lifecycle Management Process
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US without sponsorship
