The Procurement Specialist ensures items or services are purchased from specified suppliers and are delivered upon agreed terms and conditions, seeking maximum value for the company including agreed time and cost. The positon reports to the Procurement Team Leader.

Succesful Procurement Specialists have the ability to demonstrate principled leadership with sound business ethics and consistency with principles, values, and behavior. They have strong management capabilities and interpersonal skills and can influence and manage change. They are analytical and have good negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Plans and prioritizes purchasing activities with the planning manager to support the product line.
  • Acts as the focal contact person for all supply chain and finance initiatives of the location.
  • Ensures accurate and timely preparation of purchase orders prior to commitment and that goods receipt is performed within three days of goods receipt or service delivery.
  • Works with local personnel to ensure local procurement to pay process is implemented seamlessly.
  • Ensures the correct buy to pay channel is applied.
  • Controls all stages of purchase order process.
  • Reviews planned orders, creates purchased items requisitions and manages approval process.
  • Transmits and prioritizes approved purchase orders and supporting documents, to supplier.
  • Tracks acknowledgement of order by supplier.
  • Prepares and communicates shortage and backlog reports, and provides visibility of other potential interruptions to internal customers.
  • Enquires, tracks and confirms system lead time, delivery date and cost.
  • Reviews, updates and maintains open purchase orders until closed.
  • Reports supplier non-conformances.
  • Prepares return documentation for supplier.
  • Ensure adherence to approved supplier agreements and contracts.
  • Leads finance and logistics staff in resolving reception and invoice discrepancies.
  • Identifies opportunities and implements actions to reduce wasted time, money and resources from assigned tasks.
  • Complies with all company and local procedures applicable to the job function.
  • Works with relevant parties in the consolidation, reduction and rationalization of the supplier base.
  • Immediately reports non-conformances with follow-up until resolved.

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or manufacturing.
  • Minimum 2 years' of experience in Procurement or Buying role.
