The Sr Sales Manager - Repairs Power Services will be accountable for functional, business, and broad company objectives spanning both the ITO and OTR process activities. You will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within your functional areas of expertise, be involved in long- term planning activities and contribute to the overall business strategy for the Power Services (PS) Southern Region.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Sr Sales Manager - Repairs Power Services, you will:
  • Be responsible for driving Southern Region Steam Turbine (ST) Repairs Orders, Sales and CM growth but may also support Generator (Gen) or Gas Turbine (GT) Repairs Orders, Sales, and CM growth
  • Focus primarily on ST repairs but may also get involved in Gen or GT repairs in the Southern Region
  • Own and manage the Inquiry to Order (ITO) Sales strategy / process for Repairs opportunities including identifying Repairs needs via customer visits, walking customer sites / developing Repairs scopes and costing, managing the Policy 5.0 approval process, generating Repairs proposals / pricing, delivering customer proposals and negotiating / closing Repairs orders
  • Interface with PS Account Managers, Customer Service Leaders (CSLs), Commercial Operations Team, Optimization Team and Shop Cell Leaders as part of an integrated Local Customer Team to grow the Repairs business in the Southern Region
  • Team with Sales and Commercial Operations on complex, multi-offering transactions that may include Parts, Services, Up-rates and Repairs
  • Lead deal strategy development and reviews, ultimately obtaining appropriate approvals for pricing, delivery and other commercial terms for Repairs proposals
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, customer requirements, competitor actions, and customer base
  • Generate job cost estimates (JCEs) for repair scope utilizing appropriate tools
  • Own Repairs ITO to Order to Remittance (OTR) hand-off (opening letter)
  • Provide short term demand forecasting for individual portfolio
  • Provide pacing support / financial updates for P&L financial team
  • Own / Lead Repair Readiness Review (RRR) process
  • Monitor and communicate repair status, consolidate daily repairs reports, be face to customer for repairs activities
  • Approve all shop customer want date (CWD) / need by date (NBD) changes
  • Coordinate with fulfillment team to capture emergent work to help drive growth
  • Ensure proper hand-off and communication to fulfillment team
  • Support the right resource(s) being sent for job / task at hand
  • Own billing / collection issues and support to resolve
Support execution coordination of 3rd party vendor repairs


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or other technical discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of Energy industry experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales, Program Management or Customer Support
  • Ability and willingness to travel 60% of the time, as required

Desired Characteristics

  • Familiarity with ST, Gen and/or GT Repairs offerings, technology and processes
  • PS Sales experience
  • Working knowledge of standard GE T&C's and negotiations process
  • Understanding PS risk management and price approval processes
  • PS Repairs proposal generation experience
  • PS Repairs or Field Engineering experience
  • Understanding of scope / cost development for PS repairs
  • Ability to understand the impact of repair scope changes on schedule
