The Sr Sales Manager - Generator Solutions will be responsible for applying his or her specific technical and commercial expertise of Generator Solutions toward the development of the North American (NAM) market strategy and achieving Business Results in accordance with Power Services NAM "Blue Print".

Essential Responsibilities

The Sr Sales Manager - Generator Solutions will provide professional service sales representation for Generator services, upgrades and engineering studies for the legacy GE generator installed base in the North Region. The Sr Sales Manager - Generator Solutions will also serve as the central point of contact for North Region Generator product line sales strategy and will drive consistent strategy and engagement across North Region SM's covering GE, Alstom, and oOEM generator equipment.

In addition, you will:
  • Drive Commitments, Orders, Sales and Contribution Margin (CM) growth
  • Be responsible for (SFDC) data accuracy
  • Partner with Account Managers to identify, enter, and maintain the accuracy of outages, opportunities, and campaigns via SFDC
  • Serve as central point of contact for North Region Generator product line sales strategy. Coordinate and maintain regular communication with North Region SM's to drive consistency across the commercial coverage of GE, Alstom and oOEM Generator assets
  • Consolidate feedback in efforts to provide clear, consistent, and strategic Generator input to support Blueprint, SII, and other critical region planning initiatives
  • Drive targeting efforts and build region-wide awareness for Generator campaigns
  • Provide deal team leadership through the formulation and execution of proposal strategies that capitalize on GE's competitive strengths to serve the customer's needs while meeting GE's business goals
  • Interface with Account Managers, Commercial Operations Team, Customer Service Leaders (CSL), Customer Fulfillment Managers (CFM) and other functional groups as required as part of an integrated Customer Team to grow the GE Power Services NAM business with Customers in the North region
  • Team up with Account Management and Commercial Operations on complex, multi-offering transactions that may include Parts, Repairs, Outage Services, Performance Upgrades, Digital Solutions and long term Service Agreements (SA)
  • Lead deal strategy development and reviews with Sales and Commercial Operations Team, Customer Service Leaders (CSL), Customer Fulfillment Managers (CFM), Global Operations and other functional groups as required
  • Coordinate with Account Managers, Repair Sales Managers, Parts Sales Managers, CSL/CFM and engineering to enhance outage planning process thus expanding outage scopes
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, customer strategy / profile / requirements including outage schedules and competitor actions; share internally and use market knowledge to drive sales opportunities with customers
  • Maintain on-going customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Provide demand forecasting and pacing support to Sales Operations / Finance
  • Work with Engineering, Product Line, and Marketing teams to develop new products and services for business growth


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or Technical Discipline field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Power Generation Industry
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Marketing, Sales, Project Management or Customer Service in the Power Generation industry
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with, and knowledge of, Generator technology products and services
  • Ability and willingness to travel 60% of the time, as required
