The Off-Shore ICAM (Infrastructure Contractual Agreement Modeling) Dedicated DBA Lead will serve as a technical expert responsible for leading and executing multiple, simultaneous programs, initiatives and high impact to the Power Data Management Team. Initiatives like Database/RAC Build, including setting up PostgreSQL instances, schemas, backups and assisting with migration and upgrade activities.

Essential Responsibilities

The Power & Water Data Services team is looking for an individual to lead ICAM Project activities across P&W. This is a highly technical role for a senior Oracle/PostgreSQL DBA with excellent leadership & communication skills, broad architectural understanding, and strategic thinking.
In addition you will:
• Provide technology leadership for the Database Build and Operations process for Data Management Team in Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Serve as the DBA project lead for all DBA infrastructure tasks related to ICAM program / project
• Design, build and administer both development and production Oracle/PostgreSQL application databases on clustered and non-clustered systems
• Manages daily activities, issue resolution and communication across project execution teams in order to deliver projects on-time, on-budget, as-requested by the Power Technology customer. Familiarity with all ITIL processes.
• Require solid onshore/offshore vendor resource management ability, which will be realized by exhibiting strong communication skills. These same skills will provide the ability to team with and influence project leaders and stakeholders within IT and Business teams
• Will follow Oracle/PostgreSQL best practice recommendations
• Experience with automation/scripting
• Active daily monitoring of the server and DB, using heath check reports and tools such as OEM/PEM, ADDM, AWRRPT, Server Stats, DML Log report, etc. Identify possible issues and/or fine tuning opportunities
• Ensure that proper root cause analysis is completed on all Database Problem tickets and that solutions are implemented across the enterprise infrastructure
• Proficient in writing and troubleshooting SQL, PL/SQL, PGSQL code
• Develop clear SOP for all repeatable processes
• Work on new Oracle technologies POC as per team leader's direction
• Assist and mentor new team members and also assist operations team with major issues
• Participate in DBA oncall rotation
• Familiar with HA options available with Oracle/PostgreSQL
• Ensures appropriate linkages with applications to other data processing systems


• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering (or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the application of information technologies to business solutions)
• Minimum of 5 additional years of experience with Oracle as a professional DBA in a large business environment
• Knowledge & understanding of multi-tier system architectures
• Strong oral and written communication skills
