Instrumentation and Control Designer new grad opportunity

Essential Responsibilities

At GEH-C Nuclear Services, you will work on technically challenging projects as a member of the Fuel Handling engineering team. You will be responsible for the design modelling and drafting of instrumentation and control systems for on-power refueling systems for CANDU reactors. This will include elementary wiring diagrams, panel design, cable block diagrams, and wiring lists involving both CAD and raster imaging software.

Projects will involve you in the design and development of control systems for automated and semi-automated fuelling machines, robotic systems, and maintenance tooling for CANDU reactors and related systems. Electro-Mechanical students would have the opportunity to participate in multi-disciplinary control and mechanical system design teams.

Qualifications/Requirements

• New graduates with an Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering degree; or Electronics Engineering Technology diploma and strong academic achievement
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Competence in control system design and design processes
• Creative problem-solving skills, outstanding analytical abilities, demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work in a team
• AutoCAD proficient, AutoCAD Electrical and Inventor experience an asset
• SolidWorks experience an asset as well
