Performs and leads complex technology upgrades and engineering investigations on failures, develops recovery plans, and long term solutions on Steam Turbines for power generation.

Essential Responsibilities

The primary activities include: Identify upgrade opportunities, perform root cause analysis (RCA) and provide field support for industrial heavy duty steam turbine technical challenges, provide technical assistance to individual contributors to solve steam turbine technical problems including upgrade opportunities, detect and clarify potential technical risks including safety, equipment integrity and operational threats of proposed solutions or upgrades individually and as a part of the combined cycle system. Influence the design team to ensure system/component is not excessively or poorly designed with respect to delivering quality levels expected by customer & market. This position will work in a team environment, sometimes with remote team members, engaging in full services life-cycle, from troubleshooting, opportunity identification, application, requisition, execution and field support.

The Principal Engineer is expected to sought out to solve challenging technical issues on tried & true technologies. Recognize the impact of steam turbine repairs, modifications and upgrades into combined cycle performance, reliability, availability and operability from a systemic point of view.Develop and drive the technology roadmap/strategy and execution for broad applications within the Services team. This includes directing resources and establishing key partnerships both internally and externally to drive technological solutions. Principal Engineer will be responsible for meeting the schedule, scope, cost and technical targets for product service solutions under his/her control.

The Principal Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert within the area of Power Services for Steam Turbines, it is expected to mentor junior staff and consult with internal business & engineering customers and promotes customer focused culture; Driving change to address customer concerns.


• Engineering degree in from an accredited institution
• English level Advanced
• Legal Right to Work in Mexico
• Minimum 12 years of experience with Power Plants
• Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience in innovation and technical leadership
• Minimum 8 years hands on steam turbines (design and/or maintenance and/or trouble-shooting)
• Steam turbine mechanical design and operations.
• Steam turbine assembly clearances and geometric tolerances.
• Rotor vibration analysis, balancing, transient and steady state.
