The Ashalim Solar Plant is looking for an Operations Engineer to join the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team.
As an Operations Engineer you shall be responsible for coordinating the activities of the shift operations team, supporting safe, reliable and efficient operation of the plant, within technical limitations and per plant operating procedures, working closely with the Operations Manager, Maintenance Manager and Shift Supervisors.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Lead operation of all site equipment and systems, with the help of Contractor's Staff and/or Customer's Workforce.
2. Support the operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant (Ultrafiltration (UF)/ reverse osmosis (RO)).
3. Carry out routine maintenance & repair for all mechanical equipment in UF/RO facility, including troubleshooting malfunctions and operating defects.
4. Implement operational strategy consistent with achieving maximum plant efficiency to meet contractual requirements in the most safe, reliable, economical and environmentally manner.
5. Develop, record and retain applicable plant operations and maintenance data
6. Lead periodic operational checks and tests of the plant equipment, in accordance with O&M requirements, equipment manufacturers' recommendations and applicable laws & regulations.
7. Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements in plant operations.
8. Assist the Operations Manager in technical evaluation of candidates during hiring process and assist the training and qualification of the operations team.
9. Assist the implementation of Log-Out/Tag Out (LOTO) System in accordance with the O&M policies and procedures.
10. Support development and implementation of operating procedures for major systems using Facility designer's operation manuals/procedures and equipment Vendors' instructions.
11. Initiate facility modifications and upgrades to enhance plant reliability and performance.
12. Work in cooperation with GE O&M Centre of Excellence (CoE) team, GE Engineering and other O&M support functions.
13. Support optimization of plant operating strategies with the aim of achieving lower cost operation and/or increased efficiency and output.
14. Implement plant operating logs covering critical plant operating parameters and conduct necessary review and analysis to proactively identify potential problems.
15. Prepare operations activities reports as per requirements of the contract.
16. Participate and support plant root cause analysis for the technical events.
17. Support customer to coordinate with Power Purchaser and Fuel Supplier for load management and fuel supply requirements respectively.
18. Understand H&S risks / hazards and environmental / legislative aspects / impacts related to work activities.
19. Provide coverage for shift rotation if needed.


Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Controls Engineering from an accredited College or University;
Minimum 8 years of thermal power plant O&M experience with minimum three years in team lead position in plant operations;
Prior customer interface experience;
Excellent Hebrew and English, both written and verbal;
Proficiency with computer tools.
