GE Steam Power Systems (SPS) are poised for growth. We are currently looking for a Project Managers to join our team. In this capacity, you would be responsible for project operations and programs support including standardization, quality management, document management, methods creation and maintenance, process improvement and tools for the project management function. You will work closely with the Project Director to manage a dedicated scope of work of the allocated project.

Essential Responsibilities

This a leadership role that will require you to drive a coordinated approach with regards to application of the Project Execution Strategy for the scope of work allocated, to deliver the project within the contract specification, programme, budget, quality and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and cash targets. In addition you will also be responsible for (but not limited to):

*Co-ordination of all activities for the allocated scope including engineering, procurement and logistics, erection and commissioning,
*Support the Project Director for the risks and opportunities management,
*Support the Project Director for the Initiation and performing of gate reviews as appropriate,
*Support the Project Director in Defining the most effective claim strategies towards clients, partners, subcontractors, vendors,
*Provide inputs to allow the Project Director to perform negotiations with clients, partners and/or subcontractors/vendors,
*Provide inputs to allow the Project Director to perform Project Reviews as requested,
*Capture return of experience and best practices,
*Provide inputs to allow the Project Director to enable resolution of claims and concessions to/from customers, consortium partners, contractors and sub-suppliers for the allocated scope of work,
*Provide inputs to allow the Project Director to understand the schedule and reflect progress and using the schedule to optimise work and resolve problems,
*Application of project specific procedures, work instructions, project quality and EHS plans.
*Application of the Steam Plants Management System to the Project,
*Undertaking any other tasks as instructed/requested by the Project Director.


To be successful in this role, you would possess:

* A Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field from a locally or internationally recognized university
* Strong knowledge about power plant components and integrated projects
* A proven track record on complex contract negotiation within an EPC or construction environment
* In depth expertise of engineering methods
* At least 10 years of experience within a similar capacity
