The SAP Senior Solution Architect - Sourcing & logistics will integrate the SAP Design COE, reporting to the Sourcing & Logistics Design leader and will be responsible for leading process and system design for the Process Area Source to Pay. In this role she/he will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within area of expertise, and own the Global design for the mentioned process space.

Essential Responsibilities

The SAP Senior Solution Architect will:
  • Partner with Process Excellence and Finance teams to develop a Global Design for the Global SAP Program in the areas of Sourcing & Logistics, promoting compliant and efficient processes in the implementation of a global ERP and integrated systems
  • Design a global solution from blueprinting to functional detailed design in line with Corporate Enterprise Standards (ES) as well as additional standards required by GE Power and other Shared Services teams,
  • Serve as an architect for the Source to pay process
  • Support, advise, assist, guide, and resolve problems for business partners and program team members
  • Ensure conformance to system architecture, standards, and practices
  • Act as a change agent for business processes, partner with operation and IT to drive business process re-engineering for the simple and complex order types of the business to create global standard and world-class processes in the areas of sourcing, procurement, transportation, logistics and supplier quality
  • Stay current with enabling technologies and work as a partner to promote their use
  • Coordinate outsourced supplier efforts as required
  • Lead in the evaluation / implementation of third party software solutions
  • Develop peer, cross-functional and cross-GE business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness to deliver and support quality initiatives and to seamlessly integrate the program area into the overall strategic objectives and activities of the organization


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 10 years work experience within Information Technology, with a focus on Sourcing, Procurement,
    Transportation, Logistics, Supplier quality in SAP
  • Ability and willingness to travel 40% of the time, as required

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Desired Characteristics

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or IT is preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in any additional language
  • Experience implementing ERP solutions in tax complex countries
  • Global ERP rollout experience
  • Experience with other SAP ECC 6.0 modules (e.g. SD, PP, PS)
  • Experience with other SAP software related to Sourcing & Logistics process (SCM, Ariba, SRM)
  • Functional experience in the areas of Sourcing, Procurement, Logistics, Payables is a plus
  • Significant work experience in system integration with multiple legacy system landscapes and third party systems (e.g. invoice processing, e-sourcing/e-procurement, freight forwarders/3PLs, customs)
  • Full system development life cycles hands-on experience: analysis, designing, coding, testing, performance tuning and documentation
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams and working with multi-cultural environment
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Identify and analyze technical risks & impacts
  • Identify and analyze solutions and alternatives to remove roadblocks
  • Manage multiple deliverables independently in a fast paced ecosystem
  • Strong prioritization skills along with the capacity to multi-task efficiently on parallel efforts
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skill
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize under pressure
  • Ability to bridge communication between technical areas and business areas for a full and complete understanding of expectations
  • Strong oral (leading large meetings/conference-calls, leading and moderating solution workshop) and written (deliverables) communication skills
