GE seeks a strong Oracle GL Technical Analyst to drive technical support for the Power & Water GL platform. The Oracle GL Technical Analyst will be responsible for the day to day support and associated project work for the GL environment.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Oracle GL Technical Analyst, you will:
  • Support Oracle GL platform both from a daily operations and a project perspective, providing technical support of the environment, managing issues, implementing changes, liaising with Finance team on new requirements
  • Partner with IM Program Managers for the Finance team on key Simplification & Growth initiatives to drive the overall strategy
  • Interface directly with functional leadership, key stakeholders, and Corporate teams working as a business partner to evaluate, simplify, and improve business processes
  • Lead the requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, implementation, documentation and maintenance of GL system solutions & ensure business-wide standards
  • Follow PMM project rigor and process, applying Agile methodologies as appropriate
  • Benchmark new patches / upgrades - engage in bench-marking with both Power Water Technology (PWT) and EAS Organizations to drive the Technology road-map, confirm our MGP, and lead implementation
  • Manage scope, time and risk in delivering on time and high quality projects


  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with financial systems, business planning, resource allocation & project management

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong development skills using the following tools: PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, Forms, Shell Scripts, Reports, Application Object Library, Oracle APIs
  • Candidate should have the ability to understand the GL module, business processes and underlying table structures (custom & delivered) in relation to the Oracle R12 application
  • Oracle / ERP financials experience
  • Background with financial closing cycles and corresponding support
  • Experience working with Oracle GL platform and cross-business teams
  • Strong leadership & organizational skills with proven ability to partner closely with Finance team to drive ongoing improvements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Process oriented, results, quality and cost driven
  • Experience working in a global environment with offshore support teams
  • Ability & desire to remain current with technologies as well as their application in the business function
  • Green Belt / Balk Belt Certified or equivalent Quality certification
