The Lead Manager, Employee Resources is the first point of contact for GE Water managers and employees in our Beaumont, Orange and Baytown facilities. You will provide advice, coaching and support on HR fundamentals and employee related questions. This role is critical in executing our business wide initiatives, providing available and responsive internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.

Essential Responsibilities

This role will report to the Supply Chain HR Business Partner, and will be a key member of the Beaumont and Orange management team as well as the Supply Chain HR team, providing support to all of our Chemical Monitoring Solutions plants across North America..

As the Lead Manager - Employee Resources, you will:

  • Provide dedicated support and guidance to managers and employees with specific focus on employee advocacy / engagement, HR fundamentals and process training, and employee relations management, performance management and workplace investigations
  • Provide employees and managers with an available first point of contact for questions and guidance on fundamental HR topics and issues
  • Facilitate positive employee relations, employee involvement, safety and teamwork in a non-union environment
  • Ensure that employee relations issues are properly identified, reported, investigated & resolved
  • Provide advice and counsel to managers and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures and practices at 100% compliance to promote an ethical and compliant work environment
  • Lead key HR processes including compensation planning and compliance
  • Conduct HR training and support for functional processes like performance development, talent reviews, Salary Planning, New Employee Orientation and Management Team building and Effectiveness.
  • Conduct investigations including gathering, preserving, documenting and analyzing all available information and evidence, and making recommendations to the business on disciplinary or other follow-up action as appropriate
  • Maintain and protect confidential data with utmost scrutiny, judgment, and care
  • Partner with HR Operations as appropriate to address manager and employee inquiries; provide coaching to HR Operations Specialists
  • Partner with HRBPs (Human Resource Business Partners), ERMs (Employee Resource Manager) and O&TD (Organization & Talent Development) professionals to execute business-specific HR strategies
  • Lead other site-wide HR projects as assigned, working across multiple client groups
  • Assist with other HR special projects or initiatives as needed


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Human Resources function

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources
  • Master's Degree in Human Resources
  • GE HRLP (Human Resource Leadership Program) Graduate or graduate of a similar program
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting manufacturing specifically in oil & gas, petrochemical or chemical industries.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment

  • Ability to manage a high volume workload and multiple priorities

  • Detail-oriented (especially with regard to effectively managing and documenting employee relations issues and investigations)
