The Lead Engineer BOP has the responsibility for the technical management of the BOP Equipment/ Packages,
which includes equipment such as Cranes, Elevators, Air compressors, Gas Production Plant , Water treatment Plant, Chemical dozing, Misc. pumps, Debris filters, Tube cleaning systems, Fuel oil System, ACW/ CW system and other misc. equipment of power plant. He/ She represents engineering scope of supply and services in the project-team and in technical meetings towards the customer.

Essential Responsibilities

  • The Lead Engineer has the technical and time schedule responsibility for the engineering
    work and/or services on the project
  • Execution of Balance of Plants (BOP) equipment activities on assigned project and proposal
  • Support the Project Engineering Manager in their project activities
  • Shall be accountable for the correctness of his specifications, technical replies and for the correctness of
    his document follow-up schedule
  • Ensure a coordinated approach in all areas with the other Engineering Activities
  • Ensure that the design of his/her Engineering function is according to the applicable rules, regulations
    codes and standards and according to good engineering practice especially with regard to environmental aspects and health & safety of site personal, operators, maintenance personnel and third parties
  • Ensure the follow-up of the engineering processes and the corresponding work instructions,
  • Coordinate with the PEM and other projects LE the information workflow and mitigate in case of problems
  • Participate Design Reviews and the Design Freeze meetings and ensure that corrective actions defined by the Design Reviews are closed on time
  • Support in claim negotiations and preparation of relevant documentation and facts
  • Support the site and ensure processing of NCRs
  • Take care and co-ordinate of "As-Built" documentation
  • Technical assistance on site for construction and start up
  • Support the preparation of the Quality Control Plan (QCP)


Education & Training

Mandatory (MUST): Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Desirable (NICE TO HAVE): Specialization in Power Plant

Professional Experience
(Experience gained on the job during professional life)

Mandatory (MUST): 7 - 10 years of relevant experience in large Power plant projects, Minimum 5 years in the Field of Engineering; Ideally thereof 2 - 3 years in the role as lead Engineer, Specific Knowledge about the relevant international codes and standards ANSI, ASME, API, NFPA ,
HEI, PTC etc.

Desirable (NICE TO HAVE): Site Experience, Course of studies appropriate to the technical field involved

Functional Know-how
  • Know and apply design methods, rules and tools to specify the system/components
  • Power Plant process knowledge
  • Knowledge of interfaces
  • Good skills in the use of computer applications and computer tools (Microsoft Office, Access)
  • Has a good knowledge of Engineering, Design and Project Management tools and methods
  • Idea on Controls Systems
