GE Inspection & Life Extension Services is looking for a highly motivated individual to review, assemble, and process nondestructive inspection data from tests performed on power generation equipment.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Evaluation Specialist - I&LES, you will:
  • Prepare pre-inspection documentation to identify test parameters and requirements
  • Review NDT inspection reports for accuracy, completeness, and procedural adherence
  • Analyze, interpret and convert data into format for engineering analysis
  • Develop and produce formal customer reports containing recommendations, computer generated graphics, plots, tables, summaries and comparisons\Maintain & archive electronic and hard copy inspection data and reports
  • Provide engineering support teams with technical data and basic NDT knowledge
  • Effectively communicate with I&LES NDT inspectors, GE Field Engineers, Product Service Engineering, and Customers during all phases of the inspection cycle (pre-job, test execution, post job meetings)
  • Develop enhancements to NDT testing, reporting, and evaluation processes
  • Support activities as required such as proposal support, process instruction revisions, new test development, interpretation of customer technical specifications, and support of internal or external meetings
  • Assist in the performance of inspector training, including training module creation
  • Perform technical audits of NDT personnel in the field
  • Assist in the performance of field inspections as required during peak periods


  • Bachelor's Degree (OR an AAS OR vocational training in non-destructive testing technology)
  • Current or prior Level II or III certification in two or more of the following NDT methods: UT, MT, ET, PT
  • Ability and willingness to obtain Level III certification
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime / weekend / off-hours availability, as needed
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time, as required

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Desired Characteristics

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to interpret, write & assemble technical documents, drawings, and reports
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, schedule, motivate and train others
  • Work effectively with minimal direction and supervision
  • Experience using digital data acquisition systems and NDT analysis software tools
  • Power generation industry experience in the field of nondestructive testing
  • Experience working in a customer service organization
