We are a Tier 1 business. This team will be developing products that will help power Industrial Internet working on all industrial products of Onshore and Offshore Wind, Hydro & Solar. Role holder to provide technical leadership & serve as strategic functional leader for all Renewable Energy software products & services. Resp. for building/leading multiple lean/agile software engg. teams in a 1-0-1 management structure with a focus on innovative software soln's for businesses & customers.

Essential Responsibilities

You will be required to promote & lead the relationship with the GE Renewable Energy business stakeholders. You will be responsible for leading & managing the development teams to ensure successful software program execution. You may be responsible to lead scrum teams at different locations in India.

In addition, you will be responsible for:
• Rapid prototypes: defining & de-risking opportunities through rapid cycle software innovation & demonstration
• Product, PaaS or SaaS development: driving innovation, value & growth through program execution
• Financials: program expenses (forecast/actuals), travel, supplies, contract & full-time labor
• Resources: hardware, software, IT infrastructure, supplies & tools
• Teams: staffing, head-count, functional skill mix, expertise, training
• Rhythms: agile & lean start-up rituals & artifacts
• Progress: program velocity, burn-up, defect tracking & information dashboards
• Quality: defect detection, tracking & elimination; test frameworks & automation
• Engage with senior business leaders, product owners & GE customers to underst& market needs & vision; quickly translate market, business & technical needs into demonstrable software on a regular rhythm
• Work with senior business leaders & product owners to manage program definition, execution, launch & support; defining & executing against multi generation software technology plans
• Working closely to ensure oversight & compliance rhythms
• Working with Finance, HR, IT & other functions to achieve needed support
• Strategy & tactical execution of team structure & resource assignments to align with program dem&s
• Advance technical & leadership expertise through coaching, mentoring, grooming & promotions
• Drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product & technology reuse; support process improvements which guide the development, sustaining & support activities
• Deliver resource strategy & plans, including use of 3rd parties/partners for development & support activities
• Communicate effectively both within immediate team & GE leadership. Ensure team receives consistent messages & has clear underst&ing of business direction, strategy & results
• Demonstrate the highest levels of leadership integrity, openness, compliance & honesty in all business interactions
•Partner with the global stakeholders in respective teams to drive technology & people strategy to enable business impact & people growth in terms of technical depth & Leadership. Maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work & reviews, appropriate use of resources, & responsiveness to customer/program needs.
•Partner closely with global teams to drive development of new technologies as well as enable seamless interaction of teams. Facilitate communication of technical & business information between organizations & within work group. Communicate with local & global leaders on technical, organizational, resource & personnel issues.
•Drive a culture of innovation & collaboration to enable competitiveness to the product portfolio
-Define roles & responsibilities for assigned personnel. Conduct performance appraisals & participate in salary planning. Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching & counseling.
-Ensure company compliance initiatives & training requirements are implemented within work group.
-Define the Hiring Strategy to hire right people & focus on employee engagement & retention. Drive Reward & Recognition process, promote Fun at Work.
-Partner & work closely with wider Renewable Energy Engineering teams to identify synergies, collaboration, talent development, technology development initiatives.
-Participate in external customer discussion & pilot products at customer sites for demonstration & validation

Qualifications/Requirements

-Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

-Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the software domain
-Minimum of 7+ years of experience in leadership/management role
-Ability to work in a matrix team environment
-Flexibility towards travel based on business requirements.

Desired Characteristics

• Must demonstrate technical capacity to solve problems and instantiate solutions in working code
• Experience in software development in an agile environment would be a distinct advantage, including previous experience of writing code
• Experience working in a Java web development shop
• Solid understanding of Linux or Unix operating systems
• Solid understanding of software development tools & infrastructure
• Solid understanding of hosted solutions and SaaS/PaaS offerings
• Experience building web apps in a load balanced environment
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Effective teaming and problem solving abilities
• Strong oral and written communication skills including executive level presentation skills
