Scope:ensure product compliance specific for a country and/or geographical region:biocide registrations,food and potable water process additive approvals, transport classification,safety data sheets,labels for product packaging,petitions to add new products to REACH inventory lists,REACH - CLP notification to ECHA,hazard assessment re preparation directive and CLP,as well as reviewing new laws and regulations for potential impact on GE business division Water and Process Technologies.

Essential Responsibilities

- Supporting the timely transfer of Safety, Health, Environmental and Regulatory Affairs data (needed for creating e.g., Safety Data Sheets, labels, Transport documents) in different software packages by:
- assuring standard phrases used for creating SDS have correctly been assigned to finished products
- Verifying whether regulatory data assigned to finished products are consistent, up-to-date and conform to the EU directives and regulations related to the classification, labelling and packaging of chemicals.
- Provide regulatory support to the European Regional Product Regulatory Compliance managers, Business Unit management and production services managers/specialists as required.
- Ensure EHS/product regulatory data in databases and bolt-on software packages are properly maintained, for all the hazard communication documents and focusing on the proper functioning of the labelling system.
- Monitor developments in European legislation related to the classification, labelling and packaging of dangerous substances and preparations to the transportation of hazardous materials and to packaging and packaging waste.
- Provide support on the "routine" product approval/registration processes, and work with the EHS Product Regulatory Compliance Manager EMEA on approval/registration related projects
- Being a gate keeper in the REACH supply chain activities
- Participate in preparing the to register REACH substances dossiers
- Participate actively in the Site EHS program and the required EHS responsibilities


- Master in chemistry (or equivalent experience)
- Be fluent in English in writing and speaking
- Have good computer skills on all Microsoft programs with the focus on Access database, excel and SAP
- Knowledge in EU EHS regulations, including REACH and GHS/CLP
- Knowledge of the bolt-on software used to create SDS 's, labels and transport documents
- Six Sigma Discipline
