Responsible for providing technical accounting oversight and training to businesses, or functional areas for both front end deal support as well as new policy development and implementation. Considered a subject matter expert in specific accounting policies or company technical matters.

Essential Responsibilities

The Renewable Energy - Technical Controller will be responsible to:
  • Serve as technical expert providing advisory support and training for the business which may include front-end deal support
  • Assist in the effort to develop accounting compliant strategies, review documentation, evaluate contracts for embedded derivatives, evaluate complex transactions and business structures, conduct impairment analysis, and determine functional currencies of business operations
  • Assist in the effort to ensure that the business is compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting
  • Principles (GAAP), applicable laws and regulations, including applicable regulatory guidance
  • Research, evaluate, and communicate policies and procedures for the businesses (including standard methodology)
  • Review controllership procedures in conjunction with senior level managers to ensure the integrity of the financial results
  • Assist in review of annual audited financial statements and quarterly reviews


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university or college
  • Considerable years of experience in an accounting position

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Desired Characteristics

  • Certified Public Accountant or Master's of Business Administration is preferred
  • Ability to anticipate, identify and resolve complex financial issues

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and PC proficiency
