In this role, the Lead Manufacturing Engineer will have a mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge. This role requires developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for observing and performing various functions within the global supply chain for the Analytical Instruments manufacturing, including developing and implementing process improvements.

Essential Responsibilities

In addition, you will define and control production process including tooling and equipment, validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. You will also develop new solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organizations.

As the Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you will:
  • Work together with business leadership across functional teams
  • Specify needs, communicate about project approach and present outcomes of research done
  • Deliver products as part of a team
  • Improve, characterize and develop manufacturing processes for existing analytical instrument products as well as New Product Introductions (NPI), documenting process changes, driving process / fixture improvements, driving lead and cycle time improvements, cost of quality (COQ), and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) actions
  • Define investment and expense needs, driving from preparing for approvals to completion
  • Participate in LEAN initiative, and engage Six Sigma tools for process improvements
  • Develop and implement process improvements to reduce costs and cycles
  • Design necessary fixtures and tooling for manufacturing NPIs (New Product Introduction) and for process improvements
  • Bring new ideas and positive support to the current process
  • Implement productivity actions in order to improve the process and respect objectives
  • Participate in EHS related actions, to improve safety in own area
  • Lead and effectively interface with manufacturing and other support teams to complete projects to meet EHS, production, quality, and cost savings goals within schedule and budget
  • Interface with vendors and internal contacts in an effective manner to ensure that the technical and EHS perspective is properly conveyed
  • Assure that all engineering designs and technical data are complete and accurately documented to provide an accurate technical / historical base for future reference and to meet customer / end user requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering work in a production plant environment
