As a member of subsystem technology product line team, the Technology Leader - Wind Turbine Controls will be responsible for tying the team together to make sure customers get value and GE gets margin. You will lead a cross functional, team in order to understand customer needs, analyze market conditions, define features or functions and ultimately deliver a product to suit those needs.

Essential Responsibilities

The Technology Leader - Wind Turbine Controls will span many different activities from strategic to tactical, serves as an inter-disciplinary role between engineering-oriented teams and commercially oriented teams, and is responsible for planning, forecasting and marketing a product/service at all stages of the lifecycle. In addition, you will:
  • Build technology road map for controls and Loads subsystem
  • Define "Value add", cost reduction requirements for each of the controls / loads mitigation related programs
  • Identify technology/ product feasibility and its business impact
  • Scope and Define new products
  • Develop and deliver controls and loads technologies on time
  • Work cross functionally with other product line team (regional and platform and other subsystem), Engineering to drive technologies, tradeoffs

    Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aero, or Controls Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Significant engineering / research experience in wind turbine controls or loads

    Desired Characteristics

  • Master's Degree/ PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, Aero, or Controls Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Strong understanding of wind turbine system interaction
  • Ability to summarize and communicate complex technical information
  • Ability to work and influence stakeholders at all levels across the organization
  • Product management experience
  • Strong problem analysis and resolution skills
