Lead Operations Engineer is responsible to coordinate activities of shift operations team for safe, reliable and efficient operation of the plant within technical limits as per plant operating procedures through Contractor's Staff and/or Customer's Workforce. Lead Operations Engineer will work in close coordination with Operations Manager, Maintenance Manager, Plant Performance Specialist and Shift Charge Engineers.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Leads operation of all site equipment and systems utilizing Contractor's Staff and/or Customer's Workforce.
2. Implements operational strategy consistent with achieving maximum plant efficiency to meet customer requirements in the most safe, reliable, economical and environmentally safe manner,
3. Leads the development and recording of applicable plant operations and maintenance data,
4. Lead the performance and recording of periodic operational checks and tests of the plant equipment in accordance with Customer's requirements, equipment manufacturers' recommendations, applicable laws and Contractor's recommendations.
5. Ensures compliance with requirements for environmental, health and safety requirements in plant operations
6. Assists Customer in technical evaluation of candidates during hiring process of Customer's Workforce,
7. Assists the implementation of Log-Out/Tag Out (LOTO) System in accordance with the Contractor's policies and procedures with the assistance of the Customer.
8. Supports development and implementation of operating procedures for major systems using Facility designer's operation manuals/procedures and equipment Vendors' instructions utilizing the Customer's Work Force.
9. Suggests Facility modifications and upgrades to the Customer to enhance plant reliability and performance.
10. Co-ordinates with GE O&M Centre of Excellence (CoE) team, GE Engineering and other O&M support team for the resolution of complex issues relevant to operations.
11. Supports optimization of plant operating strategies with the aim of achieving lower cost operation and/or increased efficiency and output.
12. Implements plant operating logs covering critical plant operating parameters and conducts necessary review and analysis to proactively identify potential problems.
13. Prepares operations activities reports as per requirements of the contract.
14. Participates and supports plant root cause analysis for the technical events.
15. Assists the training and qualification of Customer's operations team as per guidelines of the contract
16. Supports customer to coordinate with Power Purchaser and Fuel Supplier for load management and fuel supply requirements respectively in accordance with operating procedures and as required under O&M contract
17. To comply with all EHS policies & Quality Assurance procedures as developed and implemented at site in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
18. Understand OH&S risks / hazards and environmental / legislative aspects / impacts related to work activities.
19. Ensures adequate training and development of Contractor's operations Staff.
20. Provides coverage for Operations Manager while working in rotation duty cycles.


• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Controls Engineering from an accredited College or University.
• Minimum 8 years of combined cycle power plant O&M experience with minimum three years in team lead position in plant operations.
• Minimum 5 years of O&M experience at GE F Class Gas Turbines is a must
