With a wide array of products, services, capabilities and partners that can help clients to generate Hydro power solutions, GE Renewable Energy Canada is seeking a Global Hydro Software Specialist S&M who will work with the Sales Account Community Teams to accelerate our ability to build the Hydro digital port-folio and differentiate our market positioning in North America and other key regions of the world.

Essential Responsibilities

With $300M+ Sales and 600 employees, the North American region provides cutting edge solutions for new, retrofit and service projects in Canada, US and Mexico.

Client Leadership
• Understand clients' needs based on his/her broad understanding of the Hydro marketplace, GE offerings and defined client needs.
• Support the Customers to scope the nature of their potential digitalization.
• Take a leadership role in identifying, developing and closing digital proposals with the Hydro Sales and Presales Solution Architects, software.
• Analyzing Hydro market dynamics, competition and the GE solutions capability to support the account teams in developing new business opportunities.

Business Development/Order Origination
• Providing insight to Hydro leaders regarding business opportunities and synergies with other GE business related to the digital technology.
• Preparing and delivering succinct, clear, insightful and influential executive level presentations and communications of the Digital Hydro port-folio.
• Continuously updating their understanding of the Customers and/or operational issues.
• Analyzing market dynamics, competition and the GE solutions capability to support the account teams in developing new business opportunities.
• Act as marketing leader to define and test the Digital technology Hydro can offer to different level of customers.
• Act as a key representative to the North American Hydro Leadership Team for digital initiatives within GE (ie Canadian digital council, Hydro digital council, etc...).

Capability and Thought Leadership
• Work with the Hydro Product Management team to define problem scope, desired outcome and delivery assurance (CTQ).


• Background in Sales/Marketing in the power generation industry with service exposure.
• Minimum of 10 years of commercial experience.

Desired Characteristics

• Proven negotiation, problem solving and influencing skills on significant opportunities.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with senior level management teams.
• Track record of winning new business/clients.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated experience speaking and writing clearly and convincingly.
• Language proficiency in English.
• French is a plus.
• Ability to travel at least 30%.
