Essential Responsibilities

- Be the focal point for supplier quality related activities and process control for the supplier base supporting the MSD segment of the Power & Water Business.
- Coordinate, direct, and manage supplier quality activities for Customer Sites globally with focus on issue resolution, supplier approval, supplier qualification, process control, and quality assurance consistent with Global souring quality initiatives.
- Improve quality assurance and drive consistency and adherence to quality procedures and requirements consistent with GE Power & Water Global souring quality processes and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement of supplier's quality performance through Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma principles and methodology.
- Monitor and drive for Cost of Failure/ Quality (COF / COQ) reduction.
- Manage supplier recovery by working with souring Commercial team and supplier to recover all costs associated with rejects/defects.
- Monitor supplier non-conformance performance, and identify and drive process improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Establish programs to monitor and improve supplier process capabilities for CTQs.
- Drive NPI projects at suppliers through Qualifications and Process capability studies.
- Be a technical focal point for supplier activities directed toward process control and quality assurance of site material and components.
- Provide technical guidance to suppliers toward assuring product/process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Work closely with commercial souring, Business teams, and Engineering to eliminate roadblocks and communication barriers that may affect quality. requirements.


• Engineering bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a sourcing, engineering, supply chain or other professional work environment.
• Willingness to travel (>25%)

Desired Characteristics

• Working knowledge of the following welding codes: ASME B31.1 & B31.3, AWS D1.1 demonstrated through CWI or Welding Engineer certification.
• Working knowledge of VT/PT/MT/UT/RT demonstrated through ASNT Level I or II.
• Working knowledge of the inspection of coatings (paint, galvanization) demonstrated through NACE Certification.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work in a cross functional team environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Related Power Generation Products & Services manufacturing or engineering experience
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
• Familiarity with ISO 9001
• Familiarity with the interpretation of engineering drawings/specifications and manufacturing process evaluation
• Quality control experience
