Assistant Quantity Surveyor (QS)

A major mechanical EPC requires an assistant quantity surveyor to be based in the North West supporting a major energy project.

Description

The QS will be responsible for providing commercial support and knowledge from tender stage through to final account for a portfolio of construction projects. Preparing accurate BOQ’s, measurements and values ensuring risk is limited whilst achieving the required standard and quality.

- Provide assistance, co-operate and report to the Construction Manager for the development of Tender Documents, (incl. Measurements and BOQ’s preparation), Contractor Tender assessments, Support contract negotiation and Contractor Claims during Construction stage required for Civil & enabling Contractor Contracts

- Create, Review and amend the existing ITT & BOQ forms according the UK construction industry required.

- Liaise and Collaborate with Procurement,  Designer and Logistic departments during the tender stage, including reviewing contracts, design and developing amendments to save cost, reduce construction periods, increase quality and increase functionality.

Requirements

- At least 2 years’ of QS Experience, including engineering & construction sector.

- Experience working on NEC

- Microsoft Office user

- CCNGS or similar Safety Passport accredited scheme

- CITB Construction site Managers Safety certificates or similar accredited scheme

- Valuable Project Manager experience

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING

- BEng Civil or higher degree

- Microsoft Office user

- CCNGS or similar Safety Passport accredited scheme

- CITB, SMSTS or similar
