A leading manufacturer and distributor of in-house designed precision components is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to develop its market share within the Aerospace, Defence and Industrial markets across the south of England and Wales. This is an excellent opportunity for a Technical Sales Engineer to work with some of Europe's largest Defence, Aerospace and Industrial manufacturers.
Scope of work
A manufacturer and distributor who have built a long-standing reputation for the manufacture and distribution of in-house designed precision components into multiple industries including Aerospace, Defence and Industrial is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to join their team. Taking responsibility for the Aerospace, Defence and Industrial markets across the south of England and Wales, the Technical Sales Engineer will be selling directly into major OEM and Tier One manufacturers including Thales, Ultra Electronics, Selex, BE Aerospace, Zodiac and BAe Systems.
Field-based and covering the south of England and Wales, the Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for supporting new and existing product lines through direct communication with the company's expanding customer base; selling in at design level into engineering teams getting product specified at design stage. Working with the internal sales and engineering teams, you will support, generate and execute the provision of bespoke, value-added engineering solutions into Aerospace, Defence and Industrial manufacturers.
Although the role is a field-based position, the Technical Sales Engineer will be required to report into either their East Midlands or Wiltshire once a week, depending on customer visits. The location will also depend on where the Technical Sales Engineer is located; the company is flexible with the professional reporting into the nearest site.
- Have experience selling components into the Aerospace, Defence and/or Industrial markets
- Hold a proven record in technical sales and a history of selling mechanically-based products
- Have an engineering background, with the ability to speak to engineering teams on a technical basis.
- Be willing to travel across the south of England and Wales, meeting customers at their manufacturing facilities/offices on a regular basis
- Be open to occasional travel to Europe once or twice a year.
