Jacobs Technology is seeking a Network Installer with TS/SCI with Poly for the Reston, VA office.

The candidate must have experience in all facets of network installations, which includes the physical placement of conduit, CAT5 and fiber optic cable, wall jacks, hardware, racks and communications equipment as required.
  • Also includes but not limited to: surveys, installing other conveyances, pulling and terminating cable, determining and implementing required pin outs, installing and configuring equipment chase, cards power supplies, testing and documenting installations, dressing and labeling cables, racks, patch panels, etc.
Active TS/SCI with Poly Required

Two (2) years of college in a computer field and four (4) years of related experience or any equivalent combination of relevant education or experience for a total of six (6) years. Progressive relevant training and/or certification may be substituted for one (1) year of education or experience requirements.
  • Experience in cable installation
  • Experience with conduit preferred
  • Experience with single mode and multi-mode cable preferred
  • HS diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate degree in Engineering Technology or RCDD is a plus.
  • Candidate must be PC literate and should have experience in word processing and use of spreadsheet software packages.
  • Driving a company car may be required; applicants must be able to provide proof of a valid driver's license and insurance.

Essential Functions

Work Environment

General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers. Wiring closets, data centers, crawl spaces, and offices.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 75 lbs, bend, kneel, and climb ladders. Must be able to trace cable under raised floors, and above drop ceilings.

Equipment and Machines

General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.


Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40 hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.
