My client is a national building, civil engineering and mechanical, electrical contractor with 70 years’ experience based in Nottinghamshire. Operating through a number of strategically placed regional offices

The Project Manager will head up a Multidisciplinary Design and Build team to deliver a programme of Projects initially in the Dams and Reservoir work stream across the STW region. 

Duties include :-

  • Overseeing all activities and staff to ensure that feasibility, design, procurement, financial control and site activities are managed to the highest standards in all areas of delivery
  • Align to the client’s direction and needs
  • Interpret contract commitments
  • Manage client/contractor expectations within the context of company interests and their commitment to continuing their longstanding relationship with this client
  • Ensuring that the key deliverables within each stage of the projects are being administered to the highest quality
  • Ensuring proper interpretation of the design briefs are established and the delivered solutions meet and exceed the expectations of the client
  • Working with the client to enable the most efficient and cost effective approach in delivering outstanding projects whilst maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and quality
  • Assisted by the Commercial and Contracts manager you will demonstrate and develop the financial controls that detail profit and loss and detailed cost to complete reports for each project within the programme
  • Development of strong team working relationships
  • Ensuring all project KPI`s and KPM`s are achieved
  • Developing accurate project programmes from feasibility through to project completion
  • Developing accurate cost forecasts from feasibility through to project completion
  • Ensuring compliance to procedures and standards
  • Manage office and site staff requirements and resourcing against multiple live projects
  • Cost risk management
  • Produce safe and efficient sites
  • Ownership of the entire project, design, costs, programme, documentation, site activities, procurement.

Skills and Qualifications

  • An industry applicable qualification
  • Water Industry knowledge is essential
  • Knowledge of Civil engineering is essential.
  • Knowledge of ICA, Electrical, Mechanical engineering would be beneficial
  • Commercial and contractual awareness
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
