To work for a leading IPP to manage a fuel facility to optimize maximum profitability and return on net assets, whilst simultaneously maintaining an emphasis on safety of personnel/plant availability, efficiency and protection of the environment.
Manage the O&M Team to develop As-built Constructions Drawings, P&ID, & ensures that operating manuals are available and updated to reflect station current condition.
Ensure the necessary design and engineering modifications are made to the existing Facility to ensure increase in efficiency and Facility output.
Ensures that all plant activities meet Good Engineering Practices as stated in the PPA and as practiced by best-in-class power generation companies.
Procurement and Logistics
Manage all Purchase & Service Order Agreements relating to the operations of the plant.
Work closely with the VP Finance & VP-Operations to optimize tax.
Manages all Procurement & Logistic agreements for consumable and spare parts on a continuous basis.
Ensures materials and spares are available for overhauls and mandatory inspections.
Construction, Installation & Commissioning
Ensures that the all HS&E issues during construction, installation and commissioning are in compliance with all the safety requirements for the project.
Punch list and warranty items must be collated and redressed by Project Team/Contractors.
Construction and installation of plants and equipment need to be implemented to the required prudent industry/Utility practice so as to minimize operational risks.
Ensures daily construction, installation and commissioning schedules are prepared for discussion during morning project and safety briefing.
Represents the organisation during weekly meetings with the customer.
Operations & Maintenance
Develop and implement strategies and policies to improve the operations & maintenance of production systems.
Ensure that all station strategic, operational, financial and manpower targets are achieved.
Establish and implement targets for station operational activities.
Seek approval from COO for major shut down decision unless during emergencies.
Provides technical and planning services in respect of planned maintenance, overhauls, and refurbishment.
Monitors Facility and equipment performance and carry out routine performance test to confirm OEM performance guarantees.
Develops Facility specific operations procedures manuals as experience build, including routine change-overs and testing of protective devices.
Produces efficiency and operational reports (Fuel consumption and Units generation).
Manages OEMs and Contractors to ensure optimized results.
Finance & Compliance
Develop targets/business plan for the station in accordance with business needs and ensure successful implementation.
Comply with the agreed Station Budget per business plan and inform the COO if budget is likely to increase beyond 10%.
Ensures that the station complies with all pre-approved and acceptable HS&E, Engineering, Financing & Corporates rules and standards.
Develop and submit monthly, quarterly and annual Station Reports to the COO.
Supports the COO to develop and staff the O&M Team.
Implements training and development program for staff in line with technical and business needs.
Manages implementation of change to meet global strategies and to achieve world-class performance.
Manages people, facility and resources in line with agreed business strategy.
Develops and implement necessary measures to ensure flexible work practice and team building.
Carries out performance appraisal of subordinate staff.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, at least 2 at management level
Must have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in associated field
