The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Sustainability Attributes is a multi-discipline function containing the sub attributes of Weights and Environment, operating as part of Vehicle Engineering and Attributes (VEA). Weight Engineering has a critical role in the client's regulatory obligations for tailpipe CO2, GHG and customer driven attributes.

An excellent opportunity exists to learn about attribute management through the subject of Mass Properties. As a PAT Leader within Weight Engineering, this represents an ideal opportunity to guide and influence the business in delivering all carlines to achieve a highly competitive offering to our customers. This role is pivotal in helping the client deliver its corporate compliance CO2 targets as move towards 2020. Being involved from initial target setting (pre PS) right through to validation at VP and production capability at J1, the wide scope of this role means that there is opportunity to interact with many areas of the business. Additionally, exposure to the wider engineering teams as it encompasses the whole vehicle and it also provides the opportunity for interaction with all levels of the business including the client senior management. The department has a proven track record for professional development and career progression, through the technical development of the attribute and leadership skills and visibility gained as a result of building relationships up to Director level. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities Working as part of the Vehicle Mass Properties Technical Team providing Modelling support for client vehicle programmes (including but not limited to Parametric Models, Loading Charts.) Calculation of mass properties from geometry and from first principles, responsible for coordination of generation and maintenance of Vehicle and Power Unit Mass Properties models working to develop the current tool set to introduce automation where applicable thus increasing our capability to cope with increased complexity in our products

1. Ability to Model and Analyse complex scenarios
2. Logical mind with an aptitude for Mathematics / Physics and it's application to mechanical systems
3. Methodical with the ability to interperate detailed written Legislation and or Technical Papers

Skills Preferred:
Checking of logic in existing models prior to wider publication, preparation of simplified presentation material for communicating complex scenarios
Candidates will be required to conduct verification of the weight for prototype and production vehicles by weighing them reconciliation of vehicle weight between different derivatives and trim levels

Experience Required:
Relevant degree or equivalent experience
Experience of mechanical engineering or mass properties specific work

Experience Preferred:
Self-motivated, uses initiative and problem solver focused on delivering results
Able to deliver quality and consistency in a complex, highly demanding environment

Additional Information :
This is a 40 hour a week contract with a 3:30pm finish on a Friday
Travel may be required to other client Engineering and Manufacturing sites
