The successful candidate will support the Australia Canada United Kingdom Reprogramming Laboratory (ACURL) at the Partner Support Complex (PSC) at Eglin AFB, FL. The successful candidate will perform cyber security professional duties and be responsible for ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained and documented by performing assessments of the systems/networks and identifying where these systems/networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy.

The System Administrator (SA) requires a particular set of skills and knowledge including but not limited to: system management, information/data security, and system configuration control. The successful candidate is required to have working experience with Windows Server, SQL, Network Storage, Back-ups, Linux, and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). The successful candidate is also required to be 8570 compliant, a US citizen, and have a minimum of a Secret active security clearance that is valid through December of 2018.

The successful candidate will apply his or her experience with and knowledge of a wide variety of applications, operating systems, protocols, and equipment to perform the following tasks:
  • Plan and coordinate the installation, testing, and operation server software, hardware and firmware
  • Develop, review, and modify changes to the schedule of operation to ensure systems, servers, workstations, peripherals, communications devices, and software is on-line, patched and supported.
  • Analyze failure trends and provide recommendations on future design
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and strategies are optimize and integrated into the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the operating environment
  • Evaluate the feasibility of implementing new technologies with current environments and recommend adoption of new or enhanced approaches to delivering IT services
  • Provide on-site support and security administrative functions that extend from the user's terminal to the server
  • Perform scheduled, periodic and ad-hoc maintenance or repairs required
  • Configure and manage system backups and restores
  • Manage information system accounts to include identifying account types and procedures for creating, activating, modifying, monitoring, disabling, and removing accounts
  • Review all accounts at least annually
  • Perform task that are primarily hands-on
  • This position will not involve personnel or team management.

The successful candidate is required to be a U.S. citizen for systems requiring US Only access, and is required to have a working knowledge of system functions, security policies, technical security safeguards, and operational security measures. An active Secret security clearance with Top Secret Positive Vetting capability is required. The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain F-35 Special Access Program access. Previous DoD approved cybersecurity baseline certification(s) applicable for cybersecurity functions required for the DoD positions is highly desired.

Essential Functions

Must be able to work under supervision and respond appropriately and professionally to criticism from a supervisor.

Equipment and Machines:

Personal computer (75%), scanner (5%), copy machine (5%), telephone (5%), laser printer (5%), fax machine (2%), and other office equipment including desk supplies.

Attendance:

Full-time regular work hours between Monday-Friday(excluding Saturday & Sunday). Position may require occasional weekend work depending on task requirements.

Regular attendance is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings. Must be able to work within the shift hours of 6 am and 6 pm.

Other Essential Functions:

Must be able to secure and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Must pass drug testing.

Must be able to read and write effectively in English.

With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential.
