We are responsible for the Sales function, Project, Installation and Service of wind farms throughout these regions. We strive to be the No. 1 performing business unit within Vestas. The Service department is responsible for service and maintenance of the wind farms within UK and Ireland. The department has an open and informal culture, where team work and good communication is the key to our success. Responsibilities
You will be required to develop a detailed knowledge of our wind turbines to enable you to perform daily Drive Train maintenance/replacement and other field service related tasks. Working to the highest safety and environmental standards whilst ensuring that service targets are met, you will be part of a team of Special Task technicians working throughout the region. Other duties may also be to carry out periodic service inspections in accordance with Vestas specifications together with component replacement (both electrical and mechanical) and troubleshooting on the systems

This is a regional based role and so travel throughout the region is to be expected. You should live in the Scotland Central Belt area. You may also be asked to support other regions if required by the business.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in Drive Train Maintenance/Replacement, mechanical, electrical and/or electronics background and will possess a full clean driving licence. You will have a formal qualification in one or more of the above and/or have served an apprenticeship

  • The ability to work at height of 100 metres and in adverse weather conditions
  • Excellent problem solving and fault finding skills
  • Experience of team working
  • A proactive approach, be self-motivated and well organised
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • An excellent understanding of, and commitment to, the highest standard of health & safety in the work environment
  • A good level of computer literacy
  • Previous accreditation as an AT/CT under WTSR would be advantageous

Additional information
This role will be primarily based in the Scotland Central Belt area, but will also involve working across the UK as well. The initial training period for this role will require travel to Denmark and through the UK with overnight stays which maybe for a few weeks at a time.
