Our Project Manager's (PM) are fully responsible for the overall development and execution of small- to medium projects including project profitability, safety, and client satisfaction and managing available resources, project scope, schedule, budget and contractual requirements.

Our Project Manager's (PM) are fully responsible for the overall development and execution of small- to medium projects including project profitability, safety, and client satisfaction and managing available resources, project scope, schedule, budget and contractual requirements.

The PM possesses broad knowledge, understanding and experience with the basic engineering and construction models including E, EPCM, and/or CM. PM's provide leadership and organization to the project and instills confidence in the client regarding the project team's capabilities.

A successful candidate fully understands and has demonstrable project management experience in projects across a refinery, including Separation, Conversion, and Purification. Examples include Crude Vac Units, Distillation, Fluid Catalytic Crackers, Cokers, Hydrocrackers, Reforming, Hydrotreating, Blending, Gas Conditioning, Sulfur Recovery, Wastewater Treatment, Utility distribution and Transport / Logistics. Experience with CII standard practices including FEL 1/2/3 deliverables, staged gate reviews, and team alignment methodologies.
 
Demonstrates excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and maintains specific knowledge of planning and scheduling functions, with a thorough understanding of contract administration, liability and safety issues. The PM serves as the primary point of contact for the client and other outside consultants concerning the project.
Strong client/project work history in the Houston market place.
 
Essential Functions:

Leadership skills to develop high performing teams and to be the positive CH2M representative for us with the customer
Coordinates completion of defined work scope for a project between disciplines/locations involved in execution.
Assists in preparation of project specifications and reviews progress as drawings are developed and prior to issue for permit and construction.
Monitors changes in scope/schedule. Prepares and negotiates Change Authorizations as required.
 
Develops, reviews and submits for approval all project management documents including: scope development, project costs and schedules, risk management, accounts receivable, and internal/external communications.
Monitors project costs and quality to ensure the profitability and technical performance of the project and develops innovative actions to correct variances to scope, budget and/or schedule.
Exercises cost efficient and innovative approaches in the design to save construction costs and improve productivity.

Anticipates, recognizes and identifies key project issues/problems and establishes objectives and priorities in solving them and determines solutions and directs their implementation.
Supports business and relationship development activities of the Process Business.
 
Business Development:

Develop and capture assigned major project pursuits, with support from the assigned Business Development Staff and Regional Leadership Team.
 
Participates in the preparation of proposals, authoring of project execution plans, project specification/scopes and assists in negotiating final contracts
 
Support early positioning of Project Management experience and capabilities working with BD function

Review and approve pricing models and final pricing

Goals:

Deliver industry leading customer service

Maximize margin returned to Energy & Industrial Business Group from assigned programs 
Increase backlog for major programs by leading development and capture efforts with support from the owning region Regional Manager and BD Lead

Achieve alignment with regional management team on the staffing and execution models for projects assigned to their region

Ensure effective and efficient mobilization of newly captured projects or new project phases

Influence regional operations teams to implement a collaborative delivery model on major projects by effectively sharing resources, including leadership for high value center work

Recruit and retain external and internal staff for key positions in support of major project pursuits and deliver

The minimum qualifications for this position are:
15+ years heavy process project management experience in a consulting organization or refiner. 10+ within a refining environment.
Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline
Demonstrated leadership skills

Experience with and general knowledge of safety and contract/liability issues
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
PMP Certification is a plus
