Primary Job Functions:
Job Functions:
Responsible for negotiating and executing project financings for First Solar self-developed and jointly-developed projects, including leading the solicitation, negotiation, documentation and closing of relevant financing structures, and for providing internal and external financial support, quantitative analysis and sales collateral across self-developed projects, third party bids, and acquisitions.
The candidate must have a strong understanding of financial markets (including but not limited to traditional project financing structuring, non-recourse debt, project equity, hedging), the solar photovoltaic industry, the regional power industry, and the capability to utilize that understanding to enable local First Solar teams to execute their regional business development strategy.
The candidate shall have a strong network of relationships within the Japanese financial community.
The candidate shall manage and own all aspects of assigned transactions, including interfacing with and managing 3rd party financial firms, external legal resources and consultants, and working with relevant First Solar personnel across various internal functions to provide both external solutions and internal analyses, approvals and deal support.
The candidate shall also: assist the project finance group develop financial models and applicable inputs; work with First Solar accounting and corporate finance teams to ensure correct reporting of project financial information; establish and maintain relationships with Japanese banks and providers of debt and equity capital; build relationships with key stakeholders across the PV industry; and work with the Vice-President, Project Finance to develop project financing strategies and goals.

Experience:
• 8+ years of investment banking or project finance experience
• Minimum 2+ years of non-recourse project finance experience
• Experience undertaking and managing deal structuring, contract negotiations, transaction due diligence, project rating, and capital raising and syndication
• Power Sector experience preferred
• Demonstrated superior business and credit judgment
• Familiarity with a variety of financing and capital structures
• Understanding of basic accounting and GAAP implications of proposed transactions
• Ability to conceptualize new business and financing structures to help achieve First Solar commercial objectives
• Exposure to or experience with a high energy, fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree required, preference for finance, accounting or economics
• Master's Degree preferred

• Outstanding quantitative skills and ability to conceptualize complex financial issues and work with large complex financial models
• Deep understanding of project financing and capital markets
• Ability to work with commercial and financial legal documentation
• Experience with all relevant software packages

• Fluent business English language skills
• Native Japanese language skills
