Primary Job Functions:

Reports To: Regional Director Operations & Maintenance APAC
Experience:
A minimum of 10 years relevant power industry experience.
Demonstrated understanding of business principals and economics, EH&S compliance, budgeting, personnel management, operations, and maintenance.
Education:
BS in Engineering or other technical 4 year degree.
MBA or other related Business qualifications is highly desirable.
Required Skills:
Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written.
Ability to demonstrate a high level of commitment to the customer's success.
Ability to share technical expertise with team members and the customer.
Ability to understand contractual requirements.
Ability to undertake up to 30% travel if required.
Fluency in verbal and written Japanese is required.
Fluency in verbal and written English is required.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing budgets, staffing plans, hiring and staffing the regional teams, including Regional O&M Managers, site technicians and support staff.

- Responsible for developing and managing a regional sales organization to generate new business and support First Solar business development strategies objectives.
- Responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the Operations and Maintenance Agreements are adhered to within the context of the work.
- Responsible for hiring and direction of consultants and contractors to ensure that First Solar policies and procedures adhere to local, state, and federal governmental rules, laws, and requirements.
- Responsible for working with in-house and external counsel to ensure the best interests of First Solar are represented in contractual work.
- Responsible for all plant personnel, policies, and programs. Examples include employee morale, staffing levels, training efforts, and safety issues.

- Collaborates closely with other managers and department heads in the U.S. to develop an annual operating budget for the facility, training of associates, reporting, analysis, engineering, and general conduct of business.
- Ensures strict adherence to corporate values in complying with all regulatory requirements including environmental, safety, reliability and other laws and regulations.
- Participates in public forums to support business development and community education.
- Maintains effective relationships with local political and community leaders.
- Acts as the direct point of contact with the Customers.
- Assists the Regional Director O&M APAC with other duties as required.
Critical Competencies
Strong Commercial and Management acumen - The ideal candidate has demonstrated an ability to build and manage the O&M business as an operating unit within a larger business. This is evidenced by:
- A thorough knowledge of the power generation business and the associated opportunities and challenges as evidenced by a rich and successful track record in the industry, knowledge of regulatory and permitting issues, and relationships with utilities and other customers.
- Proven ability to work cross functionally (e.g., EPC, Business Development) and to use best-in-class processes and supporting systems (e.g., remote monitoring capabilities) that have been developed and are required to ensure uniformity in the conduct of business.
- Using operational and financial metrics and a performance scorecard to manage the business in a fact-based, metrics-driven manner.
- Strong Leadership Skills - In the context of a high-growth company and results oriented culture, he/she will achieve team and career success through developing and motivating their team.
- Detail oriented and not afraid to get his/her hands dirty through a high degree of focus on the resolution of day-to-day issues.
- Embodies a \"can-do\" attitude and meets goals despite road blocks.
