Responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, support and technical consultation for the communication network of the organization, as well as for the development of technical standards and interface applications. Includes expertise in 1or more of the following: voice and data networks or wireless services and network security disciplines to include firewalls, centralized management schemes such as system updates, patch distributions, log analysis and report generation, VPN (Virtual Private Networks) and IPS (Intrusion Prevention Systems).

  • Be responsible for analyzing, designing, configuring, testing, implementing, securing, and supporting the communication networks across the organization with a specific focus on power plant communication networks and NERC-CIP regulations.
  • Collaborate with executive management, department leaders and project managers to assess near and long-term network security requirements.
  • Provide guidance and interpretation on pending or proposed regulatory requirements and how they would impact existing network standards.
  • Translate network security requirements into technical designs and work with project manager(s) to successfully implement these designs.
  • Maintain and administer diverse security solutions such as firewalls, Network Develop and validate secure firewall polices to meet business objectives, and continuously evaluate existing firewall policies for improvement opportunities.
  • Build network lab / test environments and conduct thorough pre-deployment staging.
  • Plan, communicate, oversee and/or support tactical cut-overs and firewall deployments in accordance with Change Management guidelines.
  • Complete necessary documentation, including network diagrams, build plans, policies and procedures, Technical Feasibility Exceptions (TFEs),
  • Access Control, SSL VPN, and associated management platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A senior level of experience with Check Point GAIA Firewalls and Cisco ASA
  • Understanding of current network and routing protocols including TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, IPSec, and SSL.
  • Proficiency in the use of sniffers, probes, and/or network protocol analyzers
  • Firewalls, administration and network security best practices.
  • • Check Point's CCSA NGX and/or CCSE NGX or other comparable network security certifications

Required Qualifications:
High School Grad / GED:Required;Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Work Exp:Required;Experience:5 years;
