Job Duties:
  • Responsible for advanced engineering tasks which require broad nuclear plant engineering experience and application of engineering principles.
  • Work independently with broad supervisory review and has a wide latitude to exercise judgment and make decisions.
  • Independently perform highly complex engineering tasks that require knowledge and experience with nuclear industry standards and regulations.
  • Effectively communicate and can perform the lead role in a group situation to resolve problems or coordinate design production.
  • Perform trending and monitoring of the Fire Protection System to identify issues at a low level.
  • Review test results from STPs (Special Test Procedures) to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Perform reviews of assigned systems for improvement opportunities including replacement/ upgrading obsolete equipment. This would also include preparation of funding request for the equipment and or modifications.
  • Support Refueling outages.
  • Support /Lead regulatory agency audits/reviews in the area of fire protection.
  • Support on-line and outage scope and scheduling review to ensure proper prioritization of work.
  • Prepare and present system health reports to keep management informed of issues needed attention.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering required. PE preferred, may substitute for BS degree. Master's degree in engineering preferred.
  • Seven (7) or more years of engineering or related experience required.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in nuclear power generation is required.
  • Experience with NFPA 805 and other NFPA codes and regulations preferred.
