The Manager of Solar Energy Resource Assessment oversees a team of solar & storage analysts and will be responsible for the fulfillment of all workflow items pertaining to pre-construction greenfield solar development and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) for both utility-scale and distributed generation applications as well as other long-lived process improvement projects. This position commonly provides reports and presentations to upper management through investment approval meetings, RFP support, among others. The candidate achieves successful results by effectively applying analytical solutions, understanding and articulating results to other business units through technical excellence, strong leadership, and superior communication with company stakeholders. This position reports to the Manager of Energy Resource Assessment.

Essential Job Functions :
  • Direct management of daily project workflow and prioritization within the Solar Energy Resource Assessment team
  • Lead the communication of assessment results to internal clients through the investment approval process and external clients such as independent engineers in support of project finance with little to no backup
  • Ensure work products are both accurate and delivered in a timely manner to support firm deadlines
  • Lead project definition requirements and deliverables for both standard and non-standard projects with both internal and external customers
  • Work closely with Manager of Energy Resource Assessment and supporting groups to drive, and participate in, team-specific product enhancements, methodology improvements and process streamlining
  • Employee development, coaching and on-going performance management
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in engineering, atmospheric science, statistics or related field
  • 8 years of experience with 2 years of direct management experience in a combination of the following areas; solar energy or related utility field, data and/or quantitative analysis
  • Above average knowledge of statistical analysis, radiative transfer principles, solar industry standard tools (PVSyst, SAM, satellite data, R, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication (both written and oral), and organizational skills
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary to meet critical deadlines
  • High attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's or PhD in engineering, atmospheric science, statistics or related field
  • Expert knowledge of statistical analysis, radiative transfer principles, solar industry standard tools (PVSyst, SAM, satellite data, R, etc.)
