npower are looking to recruit a Release Analyst into their expanding Digital team, the role will be full time and require occasional travel to other group sites.

Main Purpose of Job:

To work with Project Managers , Release Manager and internal / external stakeholders across the company to ensure that Releases are delivered following policy, processes and best practice.

Release analyst will report to the Release Manager and facilitation across different business areas to coordinate IT changes, configuration and release functions. Release Analyst will have direct contact with senior internal and external customers

Principal Accountabilities:

Coordinate releases to ensure that the integrity of the live environment is protected and

that the correct components are released.

Design release processes from build, through test and defect fixing, to the release of

new or changed software in to Live with the guidance of the Release Manager.

Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of the Release management process across the organisation, and make recommendations for improvement.

Ensuring that all IT teams follow the release management process for all releases and

escalates any repeated non-conformity.

Maintain quality checks on releases and record those that directly or indirectly cause

support Incidents.

Failure to successfully manage releases or delays to releases can impact project and its clients from both a commercial and reputational perspective

Help Release Manager while preparing the release plan

Expert level of understanding of service delivery architecture and its development High Complexity

Influencing senior stakeholders to guide investment decisions in projects balancing security, competency, benefits, service, track record, risk, strategy and cost - High Complexity

Understand and deliver in-house software development Medium Complexity

Review business requirements judging costs, risks and issues, third party dependencies, historic developments, framework consistency and strategic investment tensions - Medium Complexity

Bring clarity and progress to topics despite being given incomplete or conflicting requirements Medium Complexity

Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently Medium Complexity

Knowledge and Skills:

Educated to A level standard or equivalent

ITIL or Prince Foundation qualification is desirable but not essential

Previous exposure to ITIL release, service management and/or project management.

Ability to work to tight deadlines and handle work pressures to successfully deliver

releases.
