The VEV prototype test planning activity is looking for a detail oriented, motivated, self-starter to join our team. The Test Planning Engineer / Analyst is responsible for the successful delivery and execution of test plans to ensure successful engineering sign-offs within budget and time constraints of a program.

Position Duties Include:

  • Prototype test plan development and execution at all stages of a program to meet program deliverables
  • Test planning process development and improvement
  • Overall execution of the prototype test plan to ensure on time engineering sign-offs
  • Delivery of financial objectives of the team and program
  • Additional assignments as necessary to deliver corporate objectives

  • Bachelor's degree (engineering preferred)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be comfortable presenting in front of large groups and to upper management
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to rapidly consolidate large quantities of data coming from multiple sources
  • Experienced with analyzing large data sets
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage projects requiring data from multiple sources and to analyze/resolve conflicting data
  • Flexible work schedule and the ability to adjust to changing requirements

Primary Skills Preferred
  • Prototype test planning experience
  • Vehicle Engineering (VE/VI) experience
  • Experience delivering cost per unit (CPU) targets
  • Experience with prototype build process at NMPDC
  • Experience with prototype and production tooling
  • Experience going straight to production tools from design
  • Automotive product development experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Able to lift 25 lbs including test equipment and testing components 25%

Slip resistant hardened toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, 10%

Monday through Friday 8 hours per day, exempt

May need to flex time to cover weekend tessting or project needs

Day Shift

Critical that attendance is regular

Punctuality is a must

Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary. Must have flexibility of work days to cover weekend testing requirements.

Other Essential Functions

Must complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, health performance evaluation and background check

Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers. management and co-workers. Must have clear. concise and accurate communications skills in English. both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to self or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Dependable personal transportation to work site is. . Travel to and from customer's locations and the test fields may be required to support projects. This may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.
