About the opportunity

Within our Northern Region Transport Planning Business we have an opportunity for an experienced Associate/Senior Transport Modeller to complement our current team in South Brisbane. You will be involved in the technical delivery of a range of transport planning and modelling projects including strategy, appraisal, modelling and business case projects, with opportunities to work for various high profile clients across the region. In order for you to fulfil this role you must have a strong track record of working with State and Local Authorities on the development of transport evidence bases to support and inform scheme appraisal, transport assessment, transport strategy and business cases. The role will provide every opportunity for you to make your mark and influence the continuing sustainable growth of Jacobs in the Queensland market.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Working with a team of transport planners, modellers and engineers focused on a variety of transport model development, area/corridor studies, transport scheme development and appraisal projects
  • Leading the delivery of commissions as Project Manager or technical lead and building excellent working relationships with a range of clients
  • Supervising and guiding junior members of the team to ensure flawless project execution and commercial performance
  • Member of Section Leadership Team, working collaboratively with other team members to deliver Section outcomes
  • Support Section Leader to implement actions from Operations Centre (OC) Business Plan and/or OC Leadership team discussions
  • Contribute to and implement team business plans, and input into client plans, where appropriate
  • Influence decisions on business requirements and team recruitment to respond to market opportunities
  • Contribute to project work winning activities including assisting with or leading the preparation of project proposals

About You

Background and experience required:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline, you will have demonstrated experience as a Transport Modeller for model development projects along with area, corridor, link, multi-modal transport and scheme development studies with the ability to contribute to the success of a range of high profile transport projects
  • Detailed understanding of the structure and inter-relationships of the modules of a strategic travel demand forecasting model
  • Project Management experience demonstrating responsibility for task, financial, quality and risk controls
  • Experience working with State and Local Planning Authorities to produce transport evidence bases in support of policy development processes
  • Proficient with the use of Industry standard software, specific experience with Emme is required and experience with CUBE and/or VISUM is desirable
  • Experience with the use and interpretation of strategic, mesoscopic and micro-simulation modelling software
  • Previous experience producing clear, precise and coherent analysis and reports
