RWE npower are currently looking to recruit a Digital Planning and Control Managers on an FTC to provide maternity cover for 9 months, with a a start as soon as possible. This role is to be based in our Solihull office with business travel to our other UK sites on request.

Main Purpose Of Job The Digital Planning and Controls Manager has overall responsibility to devise and maintain the full hierarchy of Digital retail plans and the supporting processes, taking segment specific approaches from each of the Digital Transformation Managers to build an overarching long term Digital roadmap. Includes business plan contribution to hit key commercial metrics around Self-service, sales, Cost-tos and CSAT, driving significant customer value and benefit to npower, operating plan, budget and resource planning.

The role is responsible for the associated management of the multi-year Capex investment portfolio (up to £9m CAPEX per year), working with stakeholders such as Finance and IT. Ensuring appropriate funding provision, with co-ordination of benefits cases and tracking, the Planning and Controls Manager leads on providing appropriate controls to deliver committed Digital benefits including owning and managing Digital governance processes.

Responsible for Digital controls and compliance requirements, the Planning and Controls manager has departmental responsibility for topics such as procurement, audit management, selling regulations and data security.

Requires strong stakeholder management with CD&S, the Digital Leadership team, LRC and RWE IT.

As a member of the wider Digital Capability and Assurance team, the role holder is required to collaborate with the managers of the Digital Optimisation specialist functions to define processes, governance and ways of working to ensure resources are deployed effectively to enable a performance and KPI driven approach.

A deputy to the Digital Capability and Assurance Manager, the role will also input into the development of Digital at an RWE level to support broader Group ambitions.

Principal responsibilities: To produce online mission and strategy, and liaise with stakeholders to agree it particularly with segment Digital Transformation Managers and Digital Leadership team.

To liaise with stakeholders and finance to produce business plan submissions

Work with the business and Programme Manager to agree capex submissions

To produce and update online operating plans and KPIs

To submit the annual budget and monthly reforecasts and manage budget trends

To establish resource planning to underpin prioritisation choices, deadline management and expectation management

To devise and continually improve processes to support above planning

To work with legal, regulatory, company secretariat and other specialists to establish full range of Digital compliance requirements and interpret retail stance

Ensure online policies are created and maintained such as security, selling, accessibility, coding standards for internal and external use.

To ensure the appropriate processes are in place for policy compliance for each release

Work with senior stakeholders regarding maximising exploitation of online to their benefit and inclusion in their plans and strategy

Monitor delivery of plans, KPIs, benefits and compliance

Manage Digital roadmap leading the optimal deployment of CAPEX to deliver business benefit

Lead the production of business cases to support Digital initiatives, managing how these contribute to the broader Digital case

Ensure benefits are reported and delivered on behalf of sponsors/ the business

Resources Management of financial performance in excess of £9m CAPEX per year

Management of virtual teams

Degree qualified equivalent, Digital experience

Experience of Digital strategy and delivery in a corporate environment

Additional marketing, product, commercial, online customer service or technical strategy background

Highly numerate, experience of financial planning & KPI reporting and analysis

Experience of building strategies for senior manager approval

Process definition and implementation experience

Strengths in both high level vision and detailed quality assurance

Experience of working with significant Change programmes

Strong relationship building and stakeholder management capabilities

Strong influencing skills, able to challenge traditional ways of thinking

Excellent reporting, problem solving and analytical skills

Strong presentation skills and experience of influencing at a senior level

Good communication skills (verbal and written) for liaison with business owners and 3rd parties
