Transport & Handling is a department within Vestas R&D organization, Technology & Service Solutions (TSS). TSS is a cornerstone of Vestas and is shaping the future of modern energy by developing and maturing new products and technologies. The Transport & Handling department is responsible for developing and maintaining concepts, processes and tools for Transport, Installation and Maintenance of our wind turbines. We are involved in new turbine development as well as maintenance and optimization of the existing fleet.
Transport & Handling Tools is a part of the Transport & Handling department. The team is responsible for designing and specifying all custom tools needed in order to Transport, Install and Maintain Vestas wind turbines in the best possible way.

  • As Development Engineer with coordination responsibility in Transport & Handling Tools you will ensure effective evaluation and execution of incoming work requests.
  • Using our ECM system you ensure that all requests are evaluated, assigned and planned in corporation with the manager and relevant stakeholders.
  • You follow up on project progress and ensure planes are updated and deadlines met.
  • Further you act as the department's point of contact towards the organization and manage incoming enquiries as well as communicating new tool releases.
  • You develop and design innovative tooling solutions in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • You take ownership and lead the development from concept and requirement specification on to final verification of prototype.
  • You compose relevant design documentation and ensure adherence to relevant legislation.
  • Further you compile sourcing documentation and support the value chain.
  • Ensure evaluation of requests in corporation with stakeholders using our Engineering Change Management system
  • Planning of incoming department tasks
  • Manage incoming requests from technicians and warehouse managers globally and ensure timely responses
  • Support our sourcing department by creation of specifications etc.
  • Development and design of custom tools for Transport, Installation and Maintenance
  • Work in close corporation with relevant stakeholders e.g. Product designers, Process designers, HSE, Project Management, suppliers and more
  • Compose design documentation


  • Relevant engineering degree e.g. Mechanical design (B.Sc/M.Sc)
  • Experienced in 3D-Modeling and 2D-drafting, preferably using CREO
  • Good IT skills, in particular MS Office
  • Experience with MS Project
  • Experience with basic project management and planning

  • Methodical and structured way of working
  • Ability to manage deadlines and plans
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to work independently and in teams
  • Capable of working in a large international organization
