Responsibilities
Responsible for all engineering and technical aspects of electrical equipment and systems including transmission, substations, collection systems, SCADA, relays and system protection, to ensure quality, reliability and cost effective construction and operation of EON Climate & Renewables (EC&R) North America solar PV projects.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  THIS DESCRIPTION REPRESENTS THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION.  THE INCUMBENT MAY BE ASKED TO FULFILL OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES.
 
  1. Ensure the highest level of environmental health and safety is incorporated in all electrical engineering and design aspects of solar PV projects.
  2. Establish and maintain the electrical engineering and design criteria to be used on all applicable engineering standards and specifications for solar PV projects.
  3. Provide all required support to Development and Construction Project Managers to assure timely and cost effective resolution to electrical engineering issues.
  4. Responsible for the review, approval and engineering oversight of electrical transmission & substation systems design and supervision and coordination of commissioning of SCADA, inverters and trackers for all solar projects.
  5. Select electrical engineering consultants when needed to support projects and manage their activities to ensure consistent criteria, cost effective designs and timely delivery.
  6. Manage the activities associated with long lead electrical equipment including preparation of engineering specifications as well as technical bid evaluation as needed.
  7. Support the regulatory and permitting process as required, in the area of electrical engineering.
  8. Support Construction and perform site inspection to ensure contractors are conforming to engineering specifications and construction and safety standards.
 

Qualifications
BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited school and six (6) years of engineering experience applicable to equipment and design of transmission, distribution, system protection and substations of renewable generating facilities preferably solar . A Professional Engineer (PE) License (or obtaining License within one year of employment) is required.
