Main Purpose of Job: As a direct report of the Digital Programme Manager the Senior Project Manager is accountable for driving the delivery of npowers Digital Programme across Domestic, SME, I&C and Energy Services, ensuring optimal delivery mechanisms are adopted for maximum benefit and efficiency. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of programmes and projects from start to finish within time and budget.

The Senior Digital Project Manager plays an integral role alongside the Digital Programme Manager to lead the integration of emerging Digital projects with the Digital element of cross directorate projects. Managing a team of project managers the role influences key stakeholders across the business to think Digital First and support the delivery of the npower Digital Strategy. Supporting the delivery roadmaps and portfolios of change, the role holder will co-ordinate, resource and constantly deliver onsite functionality and enhancements that drive customer satisfaction delivering key business and customer KPIs.

The role holder will engage with and influence senior segment leaders on project approach, requirements, financials and resource required for delivery. Managing cumulative budgets in excess of £1m for individual projects the role holder will ensure the coordination of delivery across multiple departments, including IT and Business Change. With a solid grasp of business need and technical understanding the Senior Digital Project Manager will also support the evolution of npowers IT solutions and approach to large scale delivery. As an Ambassador for Agile Project delivery methodologies and constant evolution of approach, the role holder will be a key part of the Domestic Management community and the Digital Governance Board supported b the Digital Programme Control Officer.

Principal Accountabilities: Supports the Digital Programme Manager with the management of npowers Digital Programme, which represents a £40 million investment

Manages the end to end project and delivery plans (with inputs from Domestic change, IBM, RWE GBS, NWOW and CTP), assigning Project management resource, managing dependencies and ensuring the most suitable development methodology for the change is deployed.

Influence the scope of npower wide projects to drive Digital requirements and scope improvements to increase the adoption of Digital technology across the company.

Support the Digital Programme Manager with project delivery from impact assessments, functional & technical specifications through to build, test and release

Lead and manage project reporting, including the creation of updates for npowers Executive Committee ensuring delivery against timelines, budgets, benefits and risk resolution. Responsibility for the management of forecasting and actual spend of the CAPEX and OPEX Investment of the Digital Strategy

Input , as requested into Segment Change Control Boards to influence priority of delivery, release of funding and influence decision making to increase npowers Digital footprint.

Represent the Digital Programme and Digital Programme Manager at senior Programme and Governance boards as and when required as immediate DoA

Line manage and support the personal development of Digital project managers on up to 4 permanent employees and support up to 10 contract project managers

Leadership of cross divisional virtual teams

Knowledge and Skills: Degree, higher education or management/business qualification

Significant customer and commercial background to input into and verify investment papers

Experience of financial planning, large scale people management and third party governance

In-depth experience of translating business requirements into technical solutions

Prince 2 qualified, Microsoft Project expert

Significant experience of chairing Project Control Boards and associated reporting

Ability to manage, support multiple projects and people

Positive, proactive, thrives on deadlines and change & motivates others

Experience of resource planning preferred

Additional media/ channel experience such as mobile, digital TV, advantage
