CH2M Transit and Rail requires a senior mechanical engineer/project manager to lead projects across Canada.

  • Understanding of vehicle asset management planning and principles
  • Understanding of emergency and safety policies and procedures
  • Provide technical support to a variety of assignments.
  • Provide Engineering support in preparation of technical specifications for functional/ sub System/ testing/ maintenance & training requirements for transit vehicle or subsystem procurements or overhauls.
  • Responsible for resolving design and system integration issues on transit vehicles.
  • Lead technical reviews of vehicle and subsystem design for transit fleets, analyze requirements, and prepare review comments for disposition of contract.
Deliverables:
  • Author white papers and presentations explaining technical details of vehicle design for client senior management staff.
  • Provide support for both office and field based activities, including technology assessments, evaluating vendors, troubleshooting and problem resolution, testing support, and failure investigations.
  • Perform oversight and witnessing of factory testing of vehicles and subsystems prior to approval for shipment; log discrepancies and prepare reports for status of system testing, monitor field implementation and testing activities for a range of transit vehicles.
  • Support system integration of vehicle subsystems and complete vehicles from different suppliers for compatibility and functional performance.
  • Assess performance and specification compliance for vehicles and subsystems


The minimum qualifications for this position are:
  • Automotive or Aerospace experience will be considered
  • Self-starter with an ability to work unsupervised
  • Project Management Experience for transit vehicle procurements or overhauls
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with clients¬†
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of fleet management plans
  • BS Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • P.Eng. or P.Eng. eligible
  • 15+ years of vehicle experience
  • 5+ Years Project Management Experience
  • PMP is an asset
