  • Support E.ON's procurement organization to develop and qualify new vendors, with initial focus on smart meters and related products (e.g. communication devices, in-home-displays) in Low Cost Countries
  • Engage with international E.ON project teams to support and challenge project road maps and deliverables from the vendors (specification, lead time for prototypes and initial samples, etc.), initially direct the attention to smart meter roll outs in regional units across Europe (initially UK, Germany and Sweden)
  • Enable vendors to meet roll out project expectations/ deliverables by conducting supplier development activities such as qualification, factory audit, quality improvement, development plan, etc.
  • Act as the preferred technical interface to the suppliers during project development and ramp-up phases
  • Develop detailed understanding of suppliers cost structure (understanding process steps and cycle times, number of direct and indirect FTE, etc.) to enable cost analysis, calcu­lation of fair target costs and to assist the buyer in negotiations
  • Support the development of E.ON´s supplier development framework

  • Experience in supplier development processes, factory audits and quality improvements, specifically in Low Cost Countries (e.g. China)
  • Profound knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes, lean operation and value stream analysis
  • Knowledge and experience in process costing, ideally combined with cost engineering, value analysis and advanced procurement tools, such as TCO, should cost modeling and clean sheet analysis
  • Good technical knowledge about electricity and gas meters and their production processes, as well as experience in the operation of metering systems in the utility industry including knowledge about the respective legal framework is a plus
  • Team-player, with a mindset and passion for cost reduction, a strong performance orientation and the willingness to challenge "conventional" thinking, conflict management skills
  • Ability to define, understands, face and solve complex problems using solid analytical skills
  • Relevant university degree
  • Ability to work and perform in an international environment, in project  teams and in matrix structures
  • Mobility for frequent business trips to Low-Cost-Countries, such as China
  • English on negotiation level with advanced metering related vocabulary is a must, German and/or Chinese is a plus
