Houston, we need a High Voltage Technician, level IV
The person in this role will provide technical skill in assembly, installation, and testing of high voltage materials (Transformers, breakers, feedback devices, controls, protection systems, control cables, vacuum dehydration units, substations)
Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
  • Assembling High Voltage Transformers
  • Assembling HV Switchyards
  • Testing HV equipment such as HV Breakers, Transformers, Feedback Devices, Control & Protection Systems
  • Using Common Hand Tools
  • Mechanical erection of High Voltage Substations
  • Pulling & Terminating Control Cable
  • Operation of Vacuum Dehydration Units
  • Compile test reports
  • Manage assembly and testing crews
  • Monitor project costs to insure proper cost control
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma
  • Technical competence (understand software, hardware, networks, etc).
  • Must have legal authority to permanently work in the U.S.
  • Travel up to 70%
  • Eligible for International Travel
  • Understanding of basic electronic principles
  • Knowledge and skill of basic hand tools
  • 7 - 10 Years of High Voltage experience
Essential Functions:
  • All of these - Physical requirements (heavy lifting, standing, bending, climbing, handling and assembly parts, can't be claustrophobic, must be willing to fly)
  • Mental requirements (mental concentration to carry out the work, diligent, conscientious, and have a sense of urgency)
  • Equipment use (forklift, power tools)
  • Working conditions- frequently outdoors, frequently in small spaces
