Position Description
We are seeking a Technical Advisor to join the Mechanical Service Shops Department (MSSD) in Saudi Arabia.

MSSD has state of the art workshops and facilities, but its most valuable asset is the skilled and experienced workforce. The department's primary responsibility is to maintain Saudi Aramco's equipment. It plays a vital role in the company as it supports all field organizations by maintaining and repairing their equipment.

The Technical Advisor's primary role is to performing hands-on diagnoses repair and overhaul of all types of diesel engines and rotating equipment.

Minimum Requirements
As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelors Degree in engineering from a recognized and approved program.

You will have at least 7 years of industrial experience in performing hands-on repair and diagnosis of machinery.

Experience in manufacturing, with specific experience with rotating equipment/high voltage electric motor manufacturing facilities such as Flowserve, Sulzer, ITT gold, GE-Nuovo Pignone, Elliott, Dresser-Rand, Clarke, ABB, Siemens, WEG, Alstom, and Westinghouse for motors and generators (preferably).

Excellent English reading and writing.

Duties and Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following:

Provide technical consultation to the Quality Assurance Unit, Shop Operating Repair units, and contractor shops.

Participate in review and update of MSSD internal repair procedures and introduce new procedures for new engineering practice where required.

Participate in adopting and improving the reverse engineering capability of the department (including FARO arm and CAD packages) to provide innovative solutions to customers.

Provide technical input for purchasing specifications including technical proposal evaluation

Liaise with the Consulting Services Department (CSD), other Saudi Aramco departments, and manufacturers.

Liaise with in-house repair units, quality assurance units, in-Kingdom contractors, and vendors and manufactures in evaluating, developing, and implementing workshop scope.

Evaluate repair capabilities to qualify contractors to be included in the MSSD Selective Bidders list.

Participate in troubleshooting the shop repair return jobs to enhance repair quality.

Introduce the latest technology in repair methodology.

Provide consultation in all aspects of normal and emergency plant maintenance procedures and standards.

Provide technical support to maintenance and machine shop daily operations.

Support the installation, maintenance, and repair of rotating equipment.

Troubleshoot, repair, modify existing equipment, and identify cost reductions and process improvements.

Provide coaching and knowledge sharing to junior engineers in vendor and customer exchange meetings.

Participate in standards value engineering.
