Position Description
We are currently seeking a Cinema Programmer to work in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. The Cinema Programmer reports to the Film Producer and is responsible for developing awareness of cinema culture and scheduling all films and events in the Multimedia Theater. The Cinema Programmer works with the Multimedia Programmer to enhance programs and enlarge the audience.

Minimum Requirements
The main qualifications and experience required for the subject vacancy:

Five (5) years of experience in a similar role with gained film knowledge through a degree or working in cinema.
Fluently bilingual (Arabic and English) in speech and the written word.
Demonstrated knowledge of Saudi sensitivities in multimedia and how to program film and events to cultivate a greater appreciation and awareness of multimedia, the arts, culture, and the Center's values.
Familiarity with Saudi Arabia's social media, film making, art, gaming, digital, and pop culture scenes.
Knowledge of new multimedia trends and technologies and techniques, comprehensive of all types of film including art-house, independent American and European, Irish, and world cinema
Handling intellectual property rights as related to the screening of both local and international films.
Knowledge and experience of film licensing for cultural and educational institutions, licensing commercial and noncommercial films through international distributors in international and Middle East markets.
Experience in curating films that are unique and noncommercial.
Proven experience and success in devising and implementing dynamic and engaging cultural cinema programs
Knowledge in the operation of a personal computer and Microsoft Office programs, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook

Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for programming all films for the Multimedia Theater.
Watches all films before screening and ensures all programs are amended according to Cultural guidelines before being shown to the public.
Recommends and develops new programming.
Ensures programs are successful and well attended through promoting and working with stakeholders to ensure community involvement.
Works with the Multimedia Programmer on curating an annual film festival, and curates films for other Center activities as needed.
Ensure all licensing, rights, and intellectual property are accounted for and paid for by the Center for films or similar multimedia screenings/demonstrations.
