Our success to date is based on in-depth engineering knowledge and experience, applied in a practical manner to provide the best possible solutions and advice to our clients. Owing to continued growth and high demand for its services, the company is now seeking to recruit a strong candidate to lead the Implementation Team in our expanding team based in Glasgow.

Job description

The principal responsibilities of this post are:

  • Responsibility for the delivery of multi-disciplinary Technical Advisor projects to time, budget and client satisfaction.
  • Line management of a team of project managers and project engineers.
  • Training, mentoring and performance development of team members.
  • Co-ordination of renewable energy consulting projects during development and construction in the UK and overseas.
  • Co-ordination and leadership of multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Reporting on projects internally and to clients.
  • Reviewing reports and other work.
  • Managing subcontracted consultants where required for specific projects.
  • Supporting business development activities such as preparing project proposals and meeting potential clients.
  • Development of internal project management tools and other procedures.
  • Continuously monitoring work to ensure QSE compliance.
  • Conducting project site visits in the UK and overseas.

Essential criteria

  • Degree qualification in an engineering discipline or similar.
  • Experience of procurement, contracting and financial close process for large-scale (preferably renewable energy) projects.
  • Significant postgraduate experience and a proven track record in project engineering / project management.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques including program/budget/risk management.
  • Ability to line-manage highly-skilled people.
  • The ability to produce and review high quality reports to predefined deadlines.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work.
  • Strong client-facing skills and confident communicator with smart appearance.

·         A high level of problem solving ability and initiative.

  • Attention to detail, reliability and good organisational skills.
  • Driving licence valid for use in the UK.
  • Strong IT skills particularly in MS Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrable interest in renewable energy and sustainability.
  • Willingness to travel in the UK and internationally.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of the development and construction of large-scale wind energy projects is a distinct advantage.

·         Strong commercial skills with experience of high value contract management.

·         Management of site contractors in the construction and energy sector. 

·         Experience of renewable energy industry.

  • Chartered status.
  • Language skills.
  • Experience with MS Project
  • Project Management qualifications

The company is growing rapidly and offers excellent long-term career prospects.

Hours: 37 hours per week. Occasional evenings to attend meetings; Holidays: 23 days and 9 public holidays; Contract: Permanent after 3 month probationary period. Salary: £40 – 60K – Negotiable, Dependant on Experience.
