HVDC Plant Design Engineer - HVDC - West Midlands

A HVDC Plant Design Engineer is required by a leading multinational professional service to be responsible for delivering expertise in all aspects of primary substation plant designs. Undertaking assignments covering the delivery of high voltage substations associated with power plant grid connections.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in undertaking the front end engineering designs of HVDC electrical systems and equipment. You will have the ability to undertake outdoor type open terminal substations of 132kV to 400kV. Extensive experience with substation equipment such as switchgears, CT, VT, transformers, SVC's etc. You will have spent a large amount of time working on and undertaking projects on offshore substations connecting the wind farms HVDC technologies to the grid.

To secure this role project build and delivery knowledge is key as well as having a very innovative personality. With this innovative approach you will need the confidence in order to substantiate your ideas to both colleagues and clients alike. Crucially, you will be a problem solver; someone who likes to take on challenges as an individual as well as in a team.

You will have built a reputation within your companies for engineering excellence not only on a team basis but individually as well.

International experience working with HVDC is beneficial but not required.

This role is based in the West Midlands but you will be expected to travel to projects across the UK and parts of Western Europe on occasions.
